Sweden relatively recently came up with the six-hour work per day rule where employees work only for six hours, every day. While that rule might not get implemented in other countries for some time now, we have decided to instead focus on ways you can make the best use of your workday irrespective of how long the duration of daily work is.

1. Plan Ahead

The secret to taking full advantage of your workday is to plan your job ahead of time, preferably the night before. Write down a list of to-do you wish to complete the next day as planning well ahead, gets you ready to achieve the set goals. It also reduces the time spent the next day, thinking about what you should do and what is wanted from you. Planning also clears you of doubts and other queries you might have regarding the job and also mentally prepares you for tomorrow. Having a good plan rids the mind of stress and anxiety. Some recommend planning for the week or the month ahead as well, but it all depends on your work. Either way, just make sure you plan ahead before taking the plunge.

2. Prioritize and categorize your tasks

Now that you have planned ahead, you will get an idea of which task requires your immediate attention and which work can be done at a later time. Go through the list of tasks you have and categorize them in the order of importance. By prioritizing your workload, you will be better prepared to handle the job and also would have created a system for yourself by which you can tackle each task. Categorizing your task according to their priority makes time management a breeze as well. Just make sure you have a bit extra time on your hand in case of sudden change in plans.

3. Set Mini-Goals

Once you have prioritized your task, set mini goals within each task. Setting mini goals is an excellent way to gauge and track the efficiency of the work being done. Breaking a bigger task into small set mini goals is one good tactic to handle and complete a daunting task. Not to mention, completing each set mini goal is a compelling motivator.

4. Avoid Distractions

At all cost, avoid taking part in workplace gossip, office politics, personal calls, social media, and emails. Such diversions are easy distractions and time-consuming activities. You simply cannot give your best to your work when you are distracted, so it is best to avoid such distractions at all costs. Unnecessary distractions can take your attention from the priority at hand, leading to frustration and stress to complete the unfinished task. We are not suggesting that you cut all ties and contact with work colleagues but keep them to the minimum during work hours, you can be social after work ends. During work hours, focus only on your task at hand and dedicate your time to it. Cut your ties with social media and your phone while in the workspace.

5. Use Time Wisely

On an average, a human being spent right about 16-20 hours a year stuck in traffic, which is close to a day. You cannot simply let a day go to waste without any productivity now, can you? While commuting to work try listening to podcast or audiobooks on informative subjects. Podcasts can be an excellent way to learn about a particular topic and don’t require much work on your part except for listening. The topic of the podcast could differ from an issue or a top related to your job or an educational topic of your choice, as long as you make sure you optimize the time spent traveling around.

6. Take A Break

Whether you work for eight hours or ten, you will need a break now and then if you want to give your best. Continuously sitting and working at your desk will result in stress, irritation, and unnecessary mood swings. Take two set of breaks during the day, eat a snack or go out and get some fresh air, make sure you stay away from your work for a while. Getting away from your workstation for a while will help you refresh your thoughts, and give you a bit of much-needed rest, for your eyes.

7. Get Some Sleep

In keeping with the theme of the previous point, it is essential that you allow a time slot of 7-8 eights hours of sleep every night. Sleep is very much needed for your body to restore the energy that was spent during the day. If you have a very uneven sleep cycle, chances are your performance will be uneven as well. Without a well-rested mind, you cannot give your best to your work. Always ensure that you when you get home, you spend time unwinding yourself, from work and all the stress involved with it. Dedicated a fixed period towards sleeping and religiously follow it every day.

8. Be Positive

What you think is what you are- if you are going to be grumpy and angry, that will reflect on the work you do that day. Face each day with a positive attitude and be open to challenges. Face every issue in a positive light and take up any challenges that come your way. Also, be open to new opportunities – be it work or learning. Even if you are expert at your job, do not assume that you know everything, be open to every occasion and learn from them.

There are much more ways to effectively make use of workday and make work a little easier to handle. In all, the completion of the work begins with taking the first step, which is taking up the task and making an effort to complete it.

Your work desk and your office can play a huge role in you, your thinking and your work. The setting of office spaces has recently become a big issue as scientists have managed to link productivity to the office environment. Given that on an average a working human spend close to 40 hours or more at his desk working, it makes sense that the office space indirectly has an influence on employees.

If you are looking to spice up for office space, how about letting good old science lead the way instead of an interior designer. We are going to look at ways you can create the perfect workspace environment.

1. Light it up

Natural lighting is the way to go. If you are on the lookout for an office space, try opting for one that has a good set of windows or has access to natural light source AKA the sun. Scientists have discovered that when sunlight hits our skin, our bodies release nitric oxide, a compound that aids in dilating blood vessels and lowering blood pressure levels. In other words, sunlight is a high stress and mood reliever. Plus the additional sunlight reduces your electricity bills. Adequate sunlight also deprives you of sleep, while sitting in a dungeon-like, artificially lit space will wreck havoc to your sleep cycle. Go for office spaces with good natural lighting in them.

2. Windows Galore

Remember how you could get in trouble if you stared out the window during class? Well, you are safe now. Looking out the window at a park nearby or perhaps some trees is an excellent way to relieve you of stress and a real escape from work-related thoughts. Instead of positioning work desk away from the window, place them in front of the window or opt to have them on the side. The occasional glances out the window are good ways to relax your eyes from constantly scanning your computer screen.  Sitting with little to no window access could block your creativity. If windows are scarce in your office space, try going out for a walk now and then as a well-needed break. If you are looking to buy an office space, either look for one with windows or one that has a park nearby.

3. Customization Is Key

An independent study was once done on how productivity is affected when employees were restricted. The study divided workers into two groups; while one group was given freedom to personalize their workspace, the other was denied of this. The team given freedom gave out 30% more productivity that their restricted counterpart.

If you are an employer, allow your employees to personalize their workspace. A personalized work desk makes it easier for employees to work. Picture of family, pets or quotes makes the space personal and safe, leading to unbound creativity and productivity.

4. Bring Your Plant To Work

Plants add the perfect level of freshness and color to an otherwise, dull office space. The color green is perfect for it pleasing effect and having that one little leafy fellow at your work desk to take care of makes office life a little relaxing. Offices have now begun to incorporate plants in their interior space. Try having a small, easy to care for a houseplant in your workstation. It helps in bringing down stress and not to mention; plants are natural air purifiers.

5. Hodgepodge Is Good

Surprisingly, us humans work best in a cluttered environment. Another independent study showed that when people were put to sit in a cluttered work desk, they came up with quick solutions and creative suggestion when compared to individuals who sat in a clean and well-kept work desk. Clutter and unorganized work desk help fuel creativity while well-organised desks lead to restricted and controlled attitude. We suggest you maintain an organized mess to inspire you at work. As long as you know where everything is, you should be good to go.

6. Give Them Space

We live in the age of minimalism and appreciating wide open space, even if these wide open spaces are made of concrete. Modern day infrastructure focuses on open spaces and high ceiling. Instead of dumping your employees in small cubicles lined from wall to wall opt to make use of the space by accentuating it – Spread the out the work desk across the floor and set up light closer to the ceiling. Creating a less crowded up environment gets rid of the stressful aura.

7. Curvy Is In

Studies conducted by Sibel Dazkir and Marilyn Read proved that people appreciate rounded furniture in comparison to square or pointed ones. Rounded furniture layout gave a more polished look, a more comfortable appeal and reduced your chances of getting hurt bumping into them.

There is so much you can do with office space and the effect it has on your employees. The key to design is that you focus on space, color, and lighting.

We love hearing from you, so do drop us a line if you know of any other ways of creating the perfect work environment. Going on a job hunt is a job in itself, and if you are trying to look for the right job, you know you already have your plates full. Finding the right job for you will take a lot of time and will put you down a path of trial and error along the way. You will need to take things slow and not work in haste, what seemed like a “Dream job” might not be so after a week of working and then you might be stuck with a job you do not like. To make things a bit easier for you, we have come up with little ways in which you can ensure that you are at least on the right path towards your dream job.

1. Know What You Want

The best way to find the right job for you is to find what exactly it is that you would like to do. Start by writing down a list of the skills you excel in and highlight the skill sets you to feel most confident in or wish to pursue in. Next, write down your goals and objectives and then make another list charting all of your work experience. Use all three lists to narrow down on what you want and what work you enjoy doing. Thinking of where you see yourself in five years is one way you can narrow down on job prospects too. Once you know what skills set and type of work you are looking for, search online for jobs that are similar to your idea of a dream job.

2. Build Your Resume

The main reason why we suggested looking for the job online before you work on your resume is so that you can use the words and phrases describing your dream job on your resume. Mimicking the words of the job description on your resume is one of the many ways in which you can impress the company. Also, your research about the job will give you enough understanding of what the job requires and what companies are on the lookout for. Use that information to work on your resume. Refer to books and search online for resume templates and use them as a reference for your resume. Make sure you are honest on your resume and don’t add fictional skills and experience. Once you have completed working on your resume ask for reviews and suggestions, preferably from someone with equal experience or higher in position.

3. Campaign

Now that you know what job you are looking for, and you have penned down a good resume to back you up, it is time to advertise yourself to the companies around you. Before you blindly begin to send resume to every company in sight, look through the list of businesses and group them in accordance to your preference. For example, the first group will include companies you want to work in; the second group will include companies you would consider working in, and the third group consists of companies you are not sure about but willing to give a try if offered. Send your resume to the first and second panel first and mention that you are available and prepared to have an interview over the phone. This makes it easier for companies to contact you, since, interview done in person bites off a good portion of time, an interview over the phone is a whole lot convenient.

4. Be Prepared

With all the work done on your part, now you will have to wait for the company to get in touch with you. While you wait, look up books and search online for content and information on how to present yourself for an interview. It is always better to make an educated guess than to make an ignorant remark. Once the meeting date is set, check with the company for the correct date, time and make yourself available for the set date. After the interview is over send the company or the HR a thank note, either by post or through e-mail. Let them know you appreciate them for their time. This small gestures will leave a good impression of you.

There is no sure way, short cut route to getting your dream job, especially in today’s world where jobs are more segregated and specialized to particular fields of work. You will need to work your way through, test waters and experience work front to fully understand which job is the right one for you, that which can turn into a lifelong career. A job that you would love to pursue. Until you find the right one, you will have try and try and try.

Eager to test the waters on the job front? Well, you have come to the right place. Competitions have a way bringing out the best and the worst in us; perhaps this could be the reason as to why many corporate sectors encourage Friendly, work-related competitions between their employee? To see what their employees can truly bring to the table? Competitions are exciting but equally stressful. We wanted to focus on the different aspect in which a competitive work environment plays an advantage to employees.

1. Productivity

No matter what nature of work the company indulges, setting up a competition almost, always delivers real productivity. Such competitions establish the right stage, tension, and motivation towards getting a job done. Even if they are in teams, members will want to outdo one another within the teams in a bid for recognition.

2. Collaboration

There is only so much a single man can do, but when placed in a group with other men of similar talent- the possibilities for new ventures are limitless. Likewise, Putting talented minds into groups and pitting them against one another can bring out some exciting, breakthrough work for the company. With more people around, new ideas and thoughts pop up and are welcomed. By collaborating with other fellow workers, employees often have a refreshed mind and outlook on the job at hand.

3. Self Improvement

Within a focused community like a team working on a project or towards a set target, workers will begin to learn from one another and change as well slowly. A team scenario will equip an employee to find out how to coordinate with others and also how to be efficient, fast and precise.

4. Take the Plunge

No two competitions are the same, why? Because each competition brings with it its unique set of problems and issues. Not to mention that sometimes, these issues might put you on edge or take you to an uncomfortable place. Be ready to face challenging fronts and don’t hesitate to take the plunge, don’t resist if problems push beyond your line of comfort, for chances are, you will come out stronger and wiser at the end of it all.

There are many ways you can benefit from team competitions – you can learn about something new, acquire a new skill and master it, and get to build experience on your work. Like many things, there are bad points for workspace competitions, but as long as you focus on the right and work towards bringing the best of yourself to the table, you should be good to go. If you are interested to know more about how things work or if you happen to be on the look out for work, why not hit us up in home page at PoachMe the safest platform online where companies and candidates come together.

working in a team

Working in a team takes an extraordinary skill of its own. Whether it be being mindful of your co-workers and seamlessly working in correlation with your team or trying in with the team, either way, working in a team is a huge step towards working in a corporate world. So how do you go about making adequate progress in a team environment? Here are ways you can effortlessly make your presence felt in the team.

A. Communicate

Communication is an essential key in every environment, more so when you are working in a team in a workplace setting. Maybe you are having a casual chat with a fellow team member or possibly having an impromptu meeting with all your teammates; either way, make sure your voice in heard. Speak up if you have doubt or a suggestion to give, or simply agree with a member’s opinion if you feel it is right. Speaking up will help you ease in with the group you are in and will also contribute to getting the message across, which could assist in avoiding some major pitfalls or errors in the project.

B. Be A Consistent Performer

Showing up on time to a meeting is good, but that alone will not help in getting the job done, you will need to show an equal amount of consistent performance on your task. Meet your due date on time and work consistently every day and make sure you make a good amount of progress in the project on a frequent basis. By working towards your assigned goal in a consistent fashion, you make it easier for your teammates to progress on as well.

C. Think On You Feet

Quick and precise are the real kings of the corporate realm when it comes to delivering a product or service. When working on a project, you are bound to come across some hiccup or mishap along the way. Instead of playing the blame game, be quick and think of a solution to the issue and work towards fixing the errors and progressing ahead. Be a problem solver, not a problem dweller.

D. Show Respect

Your teammates are people too! Underneath the “co-worker” “office colleague” and “teammate” tag, they are ordinary citizens as well. Irrespective, it is a courtesy to treat your fellow members in a respectable manner. The office scenario is all about people skills and working in pressure. Treating them in an honest fashion makes it easier for you to work with and also creates a healthy work environment.

Working in a team is easier sometimes as you have other fellow workers with whom you share the workload with and it also makes for some good memory, so enjoy your time in the team but make sure you give it your best!

work related stress

Deadlines, meetings, presentations and more meetings- if this describes a day in your work life then it is time you sat down and read this article through, Why? Because you could be driving yourself towards a stress-filled path of self-destruction.

Sure, work life can be time-consuming and energy draining but only if you make it that way. To get things started off, a working person has a total of 5-10 duties/responsibilities to take up for every hour he/she spend in the office. Apart from that are the usual distraction that diverts a person’s attention, leading to more stress when the deadline approaches. And the stress doesn’t leave you when you exit the office; it lingers along wherever you go. Many workers have spent sleepless nights thinking about work. This is not healthy, and we all know that workplace stress never resolves anything. So what do you do? What do you do when work keeps piling up on your desk? What do you do when you have deadlines after deadlines to reach? Well here are a few tips to get you through those rough patches in work.

1. Plan Your Day

The first thing you should do when you get to work is plan what you are going to do for the day. Plan, prioritize and schedule work that you want to complete for that day.  Planning your day ahead makes it easier to work and lifts a right amount of stress and anxiety off your shoulders. Planning also gives you a good idea on what task to give priorities to, while also helping you manage time. Getting a good grip on time is of the essence in the work field.

2. Get Rid Of Distraction

Face it! You do not have time for petty things like, how many likes you have on Facebook or what the grapevines have in store at the moment. Get rid of as many distractions as you can as they will only eat away your time. A good and fast rule to follow is to stick to your plan and do not stir away from the job at hand.

3. Step Back And View

With timeline crunches, heated debates, meetings and due dates galore, it might feel like sitting in the eye of the storm. And when things don’t work out as they are supposed to, things truly fall out of place leaving behind a train wreck of work to salvage. To avoid getting into a mess, stress and working in haste, take a deep breath, step back and try to see the situation in a different perspective. Sometimes, looking at a problem through someone else’s shoes helps you come up with better solutions to the issue at hand, while also lowering your stress level.

4. Don’t Make A Mountain Out Of A Mole-Hill

Exaggerating is never the key to anything so don’t hold on to it. Should a problem arise in your work environment, the least thing you should do is to exaggerate the issue. Blowing up an issue out of proportion is an unnecessary headache not only for you but everyone around you as well. So, it keeps things clear face your problems with a steady, calm and level-headed mind.

5. Spend some “me” time

Sleep more, relax more but only when you are supposed to. Once you come home from a long day’s work, switch off your mobile and any other electronic device and spend some time attending and pampering yourself. Go for a walk, give yourself a facial or spend time with a loved one, or better yet, go to bed early. Turning off your work thoughts once you leave the office will help boost your mood and also lower your stress. Giving yourself love will also clear your mind, and you will be more ready to face the day tomorrow!

6. Breathe

No matter what you do, don’t forget to breathe. Although it is an involuntary movement, what we are suggesting you, so it is to take things slow when problem crash down your work desk. Sometimes, a momentary shutting down of yourself from work can be beneficial to you and your workload. Just close your eyes and take a deep breath, slowly three or four times. Doing so slows down your heart rate and calms you down.

In short, be smart, be calm and be ready to face and tackle all of your problems in the workforce and don’t forget to tune it out when you leave the office. A steady work-life balance is all you need to keep your tension at bay and your health on track.
That was our list of ways you can clear your mind and set yourself up for work! Did we miss something? Do let us know in the comments section below. Six Ways On How You Can Crush Your Deadlines

Deadlines – a word that can instantly cause hearts to race, minds to go numb and stress. If you happen to be in a work scenario, deadlines are often like the bosses that hunt down employers. Deadlines and due dates always manage to break a sweat on the worker’s forehead but not for long, because we have come up with ways you can meet your deadlines and crush them.

1. Talk

One of the main reasons employees are not able to meet the set deadlines is either they weren’t aware of it or weren’t made aware of the severity of it. Either way, it is important that the client and the employer talk things through before they set a deadline. During discussions, both sides get a chance to see the work at hand in a more realistic stance and value and better gauge the amount the time needed to complete it. Deadlines are not the only thing that can be discussed during meetings, the severity of the work and what needs to be done to complete it. Don’t limit talking to your client only in the initial phase of the project, consistently keep in with them. Be it about updating your customer on the progress of the assignment or announcing a certain delay in work, talk to the customer.

2. Prioritize

Now this falls entirely on the employee’s hands. Prioritizing one’s work makes it easier to implement the work and also makes it simpler to reach the deadline on time. Make a note on your calendar/notebook or a set it as a reminder on your phone. Make sure you set the priorities depending on the urgency of the task at hand. Once you have done your priorities straight, stick to them.

3. Consistent work

Work on the assignment at hand every day. Piling the work till the due date and then pulling an all-nighter to cramp in and complete your job will get you only a headache. So unless you enjoy the whole process of hampering work into one night, it is best to do little of workload every day until the day of the deadline. Break down the project into bite-sized portions that you can do/ achieve on a daily basis. This is an excellent way to track the progress of the work at hand and also gives you a little bit encourage to keep going till the finish line.

4. Set mini goals

This pointer is in conjunction with the previous one – setting up bite-sized portions of the assignment and ensuring that you achieve them daily. Accomplishing self-set mini daily goals is an easy way to lift the workload slowly.

5. Time

Not many people know the importance of time, which can be a cruel mistress to the idlers. When embarking on a new assignment or project, always make sure that you have adequate time on your hand before you accept it. Sure, a new project might sound exciting at first, but each assignment brings with it, its set of difficulties and struggles. Trying to squeeze in double the workload into a short timespan is just asking for trouble. Always ‘look before you leap.’

Should you meet a possible mishap that prevents work from progressing, immediately inform the client. Interview Etiquette

You have written yourself an excellent resume, got the call from the company of your dream and now, you are waiting for the interview date to flow in. Only this time, happiness is not the only emotion you feel- a whirlpool of anxiety, nervousness, and fear mingle in your stomach, and you feel light-headed. We have been there, and we know how you feel on the eve of the interview day, so we have packed this blog post with a list of do’s and don’t’s for you to follow through as your handle your meeting.

1.Do Your Homework

In other words, do your research about the company that is interested in you. Be well informed of the company’s main idea and their direction, their purpose and how they lead the business. Dig into the history of the company and also any recent news on the ventures taken up by the corporation and try incorporating them into your interview. Many interviewers ask the candidate about the enterprise, and many of them were mostly speechless. Have an idea of what your company does and speak openly as it will boost your chances of getting selected.

2.Practice!

Pretend that you are taking the interview and practice answering a list of questions the interviewer could potentially ask you. Generic questions like “Where do you see yourself in five years time?” or “What can you bring to the table?”. The basis is that you need to train your mind to relax while preparing itself for the actual interview. Running with mock interviews gives you more control and confidence when faced with the real one.

3.Dress to kill

We are not suggesting that you dress to commit murder but to dress up to the occasion. Ever heard of the saying ‘clothes make the man’? How you present yourself to others shows how much you value yourself in a public setting. When attending an interview, wear well ironed modest clothes, attires that are suited for a formal occasion. Dresses that are too dressy, showy or inappropriate might not gel well with what the interviewer has in mind. Chances are, your chances of getting hired could get stunted because of bad fashion choices.

4.Mind your language

We are specifically talking about your body language. How you sit and how you place your hands speaks louder than your words in the interview room. Slouching or looking down most of the time shows you are not interested in the meeting- that is not okay. Hiding your hands or fidgeting with them shows you are nervous- that is not okay either. Not having eye-contact with the interviewer is another sign that shows you are not interested. Avoid all of this a much as you can and instead, focus on

– making eye contact with the interviewer

– moving your hands/making frequent hand gestures

– standing/ sitting straight.

Body language is crucial and when used skillfully can have a great leverage on you getting hired.

5.Turn off distractions.

Mobile phones are perhaps the greatest entertainment in this world- avoid them at all costs when in the interview room. It is a hard and fast rule to turn off your mobile or to switch it to silent mode before you go in to get interviewed. Your phone ringing, while you are in the middle of the interview, is not only distracting but also gives the wrong impression, so avoid putting yourself in such a situation.

6.Do Smile

Interviews are tough, yes, but they are not that hard- so stop stressing over them. Many interviewers have expressed that they were often put-off by the candidate’s non-smiling demeanor. A smile shows that you are confident and open to suggestions and willingness to listen. It also eases the tense situation in the room, making it better for conversations to flow. So relax your shoulders and let out a smile.

To keep things short, be clear, be confident and smile and you are ready to go!

Ways You can Hired Instantly

Unemployed- the term no one likes to associate with, and we agree, it doesn’t paint a pretty picture. But you must bear in mind, that at some point in all of our lives- we were unemployed and you happen to be in that phase at the moment fear not, we have you covered.

Be it you are out of college, all young and inexperienced in life or an employee that is looking for a new space to work in, either way looking out for, or shall we say, hunting for an available job vacancy is never a joyful ride. And this is why we have decided to give you a run down of things you can do to get hired immediately.

1.Make A List Of Possible Companies

So you fish out the newspaper or a login on a job portal site and decide to apply for all the jobs your eyes can see- beautiful! But not helpful. You are probably going to spend the next couple of day answering calls from companies you don’t even know asking you to apply for a job you are not familiar.

Stop beating around the bush, instead, maintain a list of possible companies of firms you are interested in working in.  Be it a dream job or a dream company, make sure you have a clear list of all the places you see yourself working in and apply only to those companies first. Very few get to work their dream job, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a shot!

2.Cookie-cutter Resumes!

Yes, searching for jobs can make one a little antsy, but don’t let that get in the way of your productivity. Sending every company the same resume saves up a lot of time, but you are not making an effort to stand out. Also, no two companies are the same; every business has its set of requirements, its methodology, and its style and your cookie cutter resume will not make it through to them. What you can do is customize you resume by the company you are sending it to. Better yet, mimic the wording style of the business’s job advertisement into your resume- that shows that you are more suitable for the job they have in hand.

3.Be Quick in Your Response

Delay response equals to lack of interest; now you wouldn’t want your potential employer to think that you are not interested in the job. Be quick in your responses to company emails. Faster responses make it easy for companies to move ahead with the interview process. It also shows your eagerness, willingness and your precision with time. Should the circumstances arise and you are unable to respond immediately, get back to the company at a comfortable time and apologize for the delay.

4.Plan Ahead For Interview Day.

That is right- the interview is not a schedule in your day but the major event in your day. So plan your day with the interview as the primary focus. Do not expect to handle a myriad of task on the day of the meeting- that will only tire you out and make you seem less enthusiastic, not to mention stressful. Instead, ensure that you have no plans or errands to run on the day of the interview, and prepare yourself mentally and physically for the interview.

5.Be You

Yes, it might sound cheesy, but in all honesty, it works. When faced with a challenge it is always best to be yourself instead of posing to be someone else. Be honest, don’t hide anything and don’t apologize for things- you are being interviewed not put in a confession stand. If there was a gap in your resume where you were unemployed due to family or personal concerns, do not apologize for it, instead, own it. In short, be confident, employers like that.

And that brings us to the end of our list- we admit it is short, but these simple pointers will get you through! Perhaps you would like to add some tips to out list? Let us know in the comments section below.

What Goes On In the Mind Of Recruiter

Ever wondered how to prepare yourself for that interview? Don’t know what to say or how to phrase it? Instead of giving you the run of the mill list of things you can and can’t do before or during an interview, we have decided to show what the recruiters think or want from you A.K.A. the potential candidate. So continue reading as we list out things recruiters wish they see in their candidates

1.Know About The Company

Recruiter like it when they come across a candidate that knows the company and what they do. In hindsight, it is quintessential that candidates educate themselves about the business before they go in for an interview. Being aware of the company, its history and what they specialize in gives the candidates a better understanding of what they need to do and whether they can fit in with the company’s image. Prior knowledge also makes it easier for the recruiter to communicate his/her ideas to the candidate. Candidates who have often surprised recruiters with their knowledge on the potential company tend to have a higher level of getting hired. So do your research.

2.Speak Their Language

Gone are the days where candidates merely shook their heads and spoke only when asked to. Recruiters now what the candidates to pose the questions. When candidates come up with issues that show that they have taken the time to dig out information about the company and are genuinely interested in the companies welfare and image. Candidates that pose a question and give suggestion about the enterprise tend to create an impression in the recruiter’s mind as well. It also shows that the candidate is confident and willing to learn.

3.Use Your Social Media

Having a rather social, social media can do you more good than bad in this present day and age, and especially if you happen to be on the look for a job, or even trying in impress your potential company. Usually, recruiters have come across candidates who, after the interview, managed to follow the company’s social feed and post/ repost the company’s post. Doing so increases the SEO credibility of the business which is ideal for the firm and also gives them a very pleasing impression of you.

4.Prove Yourself

Seeing is believing is one proverb that could get you your dream job. As of now, companies are more open to giving the candidate a trial week or period where the potential candidate put the pedal to the medal as they show what they’ve got. The most candidate usually requests for a one week trial where they work in the company, showing them what they can do in the given environment. This gives the recruiter a better idea of how the candidate performs and if he/she is eligible for the work.

In short, as a candidate, you need to

  1. Do you research
  2. Get in the same frequency as your recruiter
  3. Put our question, suggestions and opinions
  4. Ask them for ways you can prove yourself to them.

With all things being said and done, you need to apply for a job and be available to set the ball rolling. All the best!
